Transportation & Infrastructure

Burlington is at the centre of major transportation routes, allowing your business to access major markets in Canada, the United States and beyond.

Burlington is connected to Ontario and the world through a modern, efficient and affordable network of road, rail, air and marine transportation. The network includes toll and toll-free expressways, commuter and urban public transit, by rail and bus, national and international rail service for people and goods, global passenger and cargo aviation services, and extensive inland and international marine shipping facilities.

Roads

Burlington has direct access to a network of highways:

The QEW, Highways 403, 407 and 427 linking Burlington to Toronto, Niagara and the U.S. border; the Gardiner Expressway to downtown Toronto; Highway 401, spanning the province and providing major access points to the U.S. border, and links to the Trans-Canada Highway. This system provides local firms with direct, fast access to all North American markets through the Canadian Inter-Provincial and the American Interstate highway networks. Over 100 freight-forwarding firms, and approximately 180 trucking firms in the GTA provide trucking services to Canadian and US markets.
