Burlington's Economic Development Strategy 2008-2010

The purpose of this report is to present an economic development strategy for Burlington Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) and a work plan for 2008 to 2010. This strategy builds on BEDC's previous work and research, sets a course of action based on key findings, addresses local issues and opportunities, and brings BEDC into alignment with Future Focus 7 - the City of Burlington's strategic plan for the next three years. It will also become the basis for a 3-year operating agreement with the City.

Investment Profile

The 2009 Investment Profile is a publication that serves as a first-response for business attraction and to further enhance the Burlington Economic Development Corporation's (BEDC) marketing efforts.  This publication is a means to communicate to potential investors, why Burlington is the best place to do business.  The investment profile clearly demonstrates the opportunities Burlington has through the diverse economic base, skilled workforce, strategic investments and the great transportation systems.   With these unique opportunities, the Burlington Economic Development Corporation can assist businesses in connecting them to the resources they need to efficiently and successfully invest in the Burlington Community.  The 2009 Investment Profile clearly shows how the city of Burlington is a healthy and prosperous place for economic growth.
